It's been a rough couple weeks, and I'm sorry for missing not one, but two posts in a row. Unavoidable travel occurred, and left me with barely the energy to do my job and the around the house work that needed doing. Fortunately, as the song says, we get by with a little help from our friends. Above is the fatigued crew that helped out with moving and re stacking 7 pallets of firewood for the winter, and helped out more which I'll cover later. A thanks to them is the first thing.
Two city kids on our path to eating compassionately, from kit to kitchen. Updates Tuesday and Thursday

Eyes opening on a surprisingly cold morning.
It's getting towards peak cuteness, not there yet but the opening eyes days are always some of the most fun for us on the homestead seeing all of the little ones opening their eyes and experiencing the world for the first time. We haven't had any instances of nest box eye recently, but we always keep our eyes out for it so it doesn't become a problem.

(Mostly) Growing babies
The babies are growing well for the most part. All except for the one I mentioned before. I'm not sure why he isn't thriving, but we have started trying something to get him growing.

A little snow, and babies furring out
But they aren't growing quickly at all. Indeed, the babies are hardly gaining weight at all. I still haven't had time to fully do out the chart, but overall they are putting all of their energy into growing fur and staying warm from what I can tell. I will try to get the chart up this weekend to do some solid comparisons and have real numbers for everyone that cares. There's lots more photos below the cut.
