Reality Check: We need help

So, having done a farm update, it's time to do an update on our lives since we're in transition. Why is this post covered in art rather than homestead photos? A lot of the transition focuses on the Lady of the House. The major information. The Lady of the House is 32 weeks pregnant, getting on towards 33 weeks pregnant. Her layoff from her job of 3 years is today, and no one will hire a 33 week pregnant person. Combine that with me having been laid off from one of my jobs a month ago, and we're in trouble, like take home below mortgage per month, before gas and food. Read below to see how you can help us.

Making the Growing Out Hutch, and HEAT!

Work continues on the hutch, and despite my desires it isn't quite done yet due to some in process design changes to account for reality. The other part of it not being done is just how hot it was yesterday. Temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with near 100% humidity doesn't mean you can't work. It just means you should do so slowly and with awareness of your body. Between that and needing some new materials to do this properly, we are currently 2 doors short of a hutch.

Our Sadly Not So Brilliant Idea

Every once in a while I have what I think is a Brilliant Idea. It's creative, it makes use of resources well, it fits the criterion for the objective perfectly. I've found that the key to using these ideas well is to do some research. If you have an idea that seems awesome and does things in a cool, creative new way in an old field there is often a reason it hasn't been used. This was the case with our most recent one.
